Whilst contemporary is a good word to use to describe Johanna Dehio designs; eco-friendly is another word to use.
The furniture as designed by Dehio is based on makeshift solutions, which we adopt ourselves. We lean, perch, stack things in a way to achieve a final end and Berlin-based Dehio plays up to this beautifully using materials that can be easily found and re-used.
As well as the broomstick coat rack, the collection features a sideboard and mirror that lean at just the right angle so they don’t fall down as well as “Drahtbank”, a seating and table stacking system using wire.
We really do recommend you looking at the collection of her work, as we think it’s rather quirky and comedic in a good humoured way. Take a look at Core77 for more pictures and information.
