We’ve never been particular fans of blinged out gadgetry here at EP, as regular readers will know, and it has to be said that we make no exception even when the blinged out gadget in question is a (gold plated) Wii and when the recipient of said gold Wii is none other than Her Majesty the Queen.

Presented to the Queen by THQ in a publicity stunt to promote the release of the Big Family Games Wii software title, the gold Nintendo Wii, which was delivered to Buckingham Palace with the aforementioned game, will doubtless keep the Queen most amused though for all of a few minutes (considering the software title in question) but, really, it does nothing for us.

A titanium  Xbox 360 or a carbon fiber PS3, well, that’s another matter…
