It’s not very often that we feature cell phones here on EP but we’ll happily make an exception when it comes to Samsungs new decidedly environmentally friendly Blue Earth cell phone.
Coming with a rear mounted solar panel allowing you to charge the Blue Earth phone’s battery for free via the sun’s rays and featuring a shell made entirely from recycled plastic from disposed of plastic water bottles (otherwise doubtless destined for landfill or incineration), the Samsung Blue Earth also comes with an Eco Mode which will place the handset into low energy consumption status as well as an Eco Walk function that’ll offer you feedback concerning the degree of carbon emissions you’re saving whilst walking (not driving) from A to B (pretty much a pedometer, then).
The Samsung Blue Earth undoubtedly raises the bar in terms of environmentally friendly phones and it’s not exactly an unattractive device either.
