There are, it must be said, numerous reasons for wanting to be at home virtually whilst you’re at work or away on business or vacation. You may, for example, want to check up on your pet. You may want to check up on how the new nanny’s settling in with your little terrors or you may just want to be nose as to what you’re partner’s up to whilst you’re otherwise disposed. Enter stage left the WowWee Rovio Wi-Fi Robot Web Camera.
Coming complete with Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to drive the robot remotely from wherever you have access to an internet connection, the WowWee Rovio comes armed not only with a webcam built also comes with a speaker and a microphone allowing you to not only see but also interact with anyone who may be at home or warn a burglar that you’re calling the police prior to that swine deciding to run off with your Rovio and make good his escape.
Interestingly, as well as offering audio and video streams, the WowWee Rovio can also navigate around your home completely independently using programmable navigation points allowing you to simply select any pre-programmed point which the Rovio will duly relocate to should you not wish to navigate the route each time yourself.
Great for keeping in touch with home whilst you’re away as long as you can keep it away from the children (should you have them) or stop Fido the Wonderdog cocking his leg over it in a bid to assure itself of some privacy for a change, the will set you back around $297 as at the time of writing.
