Following on from the beautifully retro styled Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 we have another retro styled camera that, like the DMC-LX3, simply oozes yesteryear visual appeal whilst packing in seriously up-to-the-minute technology – namely Ricoh’s new R10.
Powered by the Smooth Imaging Engine III, the Ricoh R10 boasts 10 megapixel resolution paired with 7.1x wide angle optical zoom with 1cm macro capabilities and, naturally, also sports everything you would expect from a digital compact camera such as face recognition, image stabilisation high sensitivities (up to ISO 1600) all packed into a distinctively styled body that’s decidedly classic in feel.
Interestingly, the Ricoh R10, whilst offering a host of scene modes, also offers the end-user the ability to add a little retro feel to images captures in being capable of capturing images in standard colour as well as black and white, and sepia (the later being an especially nice touch).
The Ricoh R10 is set to retail for around the £200 / $368 price point.
