Whilst we saw this rather cool looking HYmini Portable Power Generator way back in October of last year we never actually got round to featuring it here on EP – shame on us.
By way of making up for not featuring it back when we really to we are overjoyed to report that the device is no longer at the conceptual stage and has just become commercially available allowing you to generate your own, green power from both wind and sun courtesy of the devices mini wind generator and (optional) integrated solar panels.
The HYmini Portable Power Generator comes with built in lithium-ion battery capable of storing up to 1200mAh of power ensuring that, should your cell phone, PDA, MP3 player (et al) run out of charge you have reserve power just waiting to be tapped into.
Capable of being daisy chained and designed to either be worn or mounted on a bicycle’s handlebars, the HYmini Portable Power Generator – which can generate power from just 9mph or wind – comes with Nokia, Sony Ericcson, Samsung, LG and mini-USB adapters and retails for around $50 for the base model with the device’s optional solar panel setting you back a further $25.
