Certainly, when you come across current design concepts such as this Digitus Ring by Windlin it’s not hard to feel excited as to what jewelery could be like in the foreseeable future.
Controlled by an integral micro-processor the Digitus Ring is capable of displaying anything from the time to reminders of upcoming events thanks to using, not e-paper (as used by the previously featured and equally stunning MP4 Bracelet) but around 1500 magnetic balls that can be arranged by the ring’s processor to display numbers, letters and even shapes and patterns – though quite how the information to be displayed is actually fed to the Digitus remains a mystery (Bluetooth perhaps?).
Whether or not the Digitus Ring ever sees the light of day or not is almost immaterial as, at the very least, it offers a tantalising glimpse into the future of jewelery design.
