Whilst we’ve features a number of what we would term ‘social seating solutions’ here on e-Potpourri – such as the LoveSeat – this Off The Wall Sofa from Israeli designer Avid Gil certainly makes no bones in offering seating for couples who, for one reason or another, just don’t see eye to eye.
Manufactured from vinyl, rubber, iron wood and foam, the Off The Wall sofa offers two seats, the use of which has major implications for anyone also seated on the sofa on account of the fact that the sofa will only offer a single comfortable seat at any one time (with the heaviest occupant serving to wholly dislodge their lighter counterpart).
The Off The Wall Sofa certainly places couples in what can best be served as a negative union (whereby each share a combined goal the obtaining of which has a negative overtly impact on the other) and, apart from genuinely loving the concept in itself, it also brought quite a smile to our faces (not least because, simply on account of the way it has been designed, this sofa will enevitably, and somewhat ironically draw couples closer together – albeit perhaps only in a physical sense).
As far as we are aware, the Off The Wall Sofa, which is part of Gil’s Conflict furniture collection, is not available commercially at the time of writing though contact details are provided should you find that your life simply wouldn’t be complete without one.
